Alpha Omega Antiques
Campbell Town Antiques & Arts Centre is situated in a landmark building in the centre of Campbell Town. This fine two storey sandstone building,
(pictured below), was formerly the Campbell Town Inn, and was built in 1840 in the Georgian style. It was used in early colonial days as a coaching inn
where travellers stayed overnight while making the arduous trip from the north of Tasmania to Hobart in the south. It later became a hotel and remained as such until 2004.
One of colonial Australia's most infamous bush rangers, Martin Cash, often enjoyed a cold beer in the inn on a hot day as a respite from holding up coach travellers in colonial Tasmania.
However, there is no truth to the tale that his ghost is responsible for moving our antiques from room to room.
We are privileged to be the first to utilize this fine piece of early Australian colonial architecture as an antique retail outlet. The building is ideal for our retail art and
antiques centre with our fine colonial and international furniture and art displayed perfectly in this gracious setting.
